We love the people who wear our glasses. Most of all we love their stories. Here’s one of them.
Meet Lyss, a photographer and Coffs Harbour memory catcher who specialises in simple portraits and documentary (life)style photography. She loves finding the beautiful moments as they unfold… She loves sharing her Sneaking Ducks with son Townes too!
1. What’s your favorite photo ever taken?
Probably not the expected answer from a photographer but it would be the very first photo I ever took of my baby boy. It was right after he was born, everyone had just gone home for the night so it was just me and him at the hospital and I just took it on my Iphone. It’s on my fridge I look at it every day!
2. What would THE perfect day look like?
Not working! Sleeping until I can wake up on my own having had enough sleep (HAHA!) and then just hanging out with my kids all day with my attention undivided, maybe on a lovely beach with a picnic. Ending the day sitting somewhere pretty with wine! That’s all I need!
3. Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do for a living?
I’m a photographer! Mostly weddings but also family portraits, pregnancy and newborn portraits, preschool photos and the occasional small business imagery. However, what this truly means, as most photographers will tell you, is that I’m an editor. My job is 10% taking the photographs and 90% working on the computer.
4. What’s the most fun project you’re working on at the moment?
Preschool photos are always fun! I’m currently editing preschool images from the loveliest preschool in our town. It’s a true “children in the garden” (kindergarten) with lovely plants and wooden toys etc. The children are so relaxed and happy. A joy!
5. Favorite way to spend your time when not working?
Sleeeeeping. My eyes are always so tired.
6. Tell us about your favorite Sneaking Duck frames!
I LOVE my Wonkavators! I wear them for the majority of everyday but they make me happy every time I put them on… It’s the little things!
7. How does Sneaking Duck fit into your lifestyle?
I live in a regional area so when it was time for new frames I tried on literally every frame in every shop here and none of them were even a “maybe”. I had a look online and in no time at all had a box of lovely “MAYBES” to try on right at home. Too easy!
8. 3 items you can’t live without.
Wine, my glasses (ouch my eyes!) and COFFEE
