Hark back to your sweet-toothed and carefree days with our new Eye Candy collection. Fresh and shiny in blue, clear, red and toffee colours, our frames are deliciously candied – but that got us thinking… when did it become socially unacceptable for us grown-ups to enjoy a sweet treat?
Adults can guzzle bottles of wine by the litre, along with footy beers, mixed nuts, and mountains of barbequed meat – all food items quite socially acceptable in excessive calo-rific intakes – but what about a grown man who wants to inhale a couple of Sherbies? He’d risk losing valuable man points.
One (silly and misinformed) article even stated that adults should grow out of their sweet-tooth days by the time they hit their late teens. Grow out of what? Ghost Drops were the bomb, and no one is taking away my Cherry Ripes. Grown ups unite – it is time to reclaim what was once ours (in reasonable serving sizes, of course).
Sweet things that kids do better than grown-ups
Why wouldn’t you want to revert to childlike habits? For starters, kids have way more fun than adults! Kids laugh more – up to 300 times a day compared to adults’ measly 20.
Our kidlets make friends more quickly (using clever intuitive analysis and understanding of what it takes to persuade another person), and they get over hurdles (life’s ones) way faster too. The only thing we shouldn’t miss are growing pains. Ouch. Let’s be honest, who didn’t love spending hours of vomit-inducing fun on the whirly-thingamajig at the park?
It’s time to quit pursuing maturity and start jumping in spring-time puddles. Start every single day with childlike enthusiasm by wearing your coloured crystal specs. Let your imagination run wild with rectangle lolly inspired frames, like the Blue Steel, Red Ones, Laboratorist or, if you’re into hard boiled round variety, the Wonkavators, Smarty Pants, and Toffee Apple will be flying off these candy store shelves before you know it!
