Stumped for a new look this autumn? Clearly you haven’t had a chance to check out our new collection of wooden eyewear. It’s actually a faux-wood range – think gorgeous touch-textures and nutty browns with a colour palette that reminds us of that time of year when the trees start to turn those fabulous autumny auburns and oranges. *sigh*
Here’s a bit of a style guide to pulling off wooden frames glasses.
Branch Out: Wooden Specs
Most true wooden spectacle frames just have wood arms rather than the whole frame. So, just like the classic mullét – with a block colour front and wood temples, you can be business at the front, and party at the back. With real mahogany arms try The Woody Would.
Wood isn’t malleable like metal or plastic, so fitting prescription lenses into a wooden frame can be tricky. Although off-the-shelf wooden glasses or sunglasses do exist, they’re not usually made for prescription lenses. Faux wooden glasses achieve the look without any technical difficulties.
Macho Mahogany and Beech Belles
– Blokes, try The Scrumper’s Delight for a hipster look, or Shagbark show a more serious side. The Stanley Street are versatile and available with either plano, prescriptive or tinted lenses for the sunshine.
