Are you with Hospital Contribution Fund of Australia and looking to buy glasses from Sneaking Duck? Well, you lucky-ducky, we’re a registered provider with HCF, so you’ll be able to claim for your new glasses with your HCF Optical Extras cover! (We’re also registered with heaps of other health funds too)
How our side of claiming works:
Most people have a large proportion of the cost of glasses covered through HCF eyecare, sometimes the whole amount, meaning your new glasses are virtually free! There are many different HCF optical benefits plans, so you might want to check with HCF before ordering.
For claiming purposes, there are different ‘item codes’ for frames, lens and lens coatings (like our awesome anti-reflective coating which is automatically included on your lenses). Your level of cover will determine how much the HCF rebate is for each item.
If you buy 1 pair of Sneaking Duck glasses for $180, the price is split between the codes like this:
|Normal lenses, Multicoating||Code 212/662||$90|
For multiple pairs, each extra pair at $90 is split between codes in the same ratio, i.e. $45 for frames, $45 for coated lenses.
If you buy 1 pair of frames with high index lenses for $240, the price split is as follows:
|High index lenses, Multicoating||Code 612/662||$150|
There is more information in our FAQ section. Please note this is meant only as a guide – your invoice will have the exact details and we always recommend contacting your health fund to double check.
How to claim with HCF:
Once you have ordered your Sneaking Duck glasses, we will send you an invoice with your item codes. To claim your HCF optical cover, you’ll need to take this invoice and our provider number, which is 1502311K, to your local HCF branch. Alternatively, you could claim for your glasses by mail or via HCF’s online member services.
