Sneaking Duck is registered with Medibank Optical, so claiming for eyewear is fast and easy. We find that most people have a large proportion of the price covered, and sometimes the whole amount – meaning your glasses are free!
UPDATE (2014) – Please note that Medibank have some restrictions on who can claim for online optical purchases. Please ensure that you contact Medibank and check your prescription is covered before purchase.
Most plans allow you to claim a percentage of the total bill, up to an annual limit across claims. There are many different Medibank Extras plans, so I recommend calling them to check how much you’ll get back on each item number – all the details you need are below.
If you buy 1 pair of frames for $180 then the price splits up as follows:
|Normal lenses, Multicoating||Code 212/662||$90|
If you buy multiple pairs, then each additional $90 is split in the same ratio.
If you buy 1 pair of frames with high index lenses for $240 the the price splits up like this:
|High index lenses, Multicoating||Code 612/662||$150|
There is more information here. Please note that this is intended only as a guide – your invoice will have the exact details.
Claiming is streamlined and managed by Medibank Private Optical. Once you have purchased from Sneaking Duck, we will send you an itemised invoice. To claim, you will need this invoice and and our provider number which is 1502311K.
